Kicking back by the fire and testing out the new pot. As posted about previously, I typically roll with a smaller and lighter titanium vessel. However on the opposite end of the spectrum is this Self Reliance Outfitters Bush Pot I recently got a hold of. It’s stainless steel, 1.9L capacity, double the thickness of my regular titanium cookware and about 3 or 4 times the weight of it to boot.
This pot makes a lot of sense for bushcraft endeavours where weight is secondary to my trip goals, and the ability to cook up actual food without fretting much about things burning or overflowing is luxurious. I think we can all agree that it’s hard to beat fresh wholefoods when you’re out camping. The pot has worked well thus far and though simple, it is a game changer in terms of my approach to camp cooking.⠀
