Bushcraft

As of late I’ve almost exclusively been using this method of shelter when I’m out in the bush. Pictured here is a Hammock Gear Standard tarp with doors, a somewhat invisible but complete 3 season hammock system from Tier Gear, plus a definitely invisible top quilt by Enlightened Equipment. This gear is lightweight, dependable and above all else keeps me protected and super comfortable. Everything in this shelter and sleeping system has been handmade by passionate crafts people, it doesn’t get much better than that right? What sort of shelter and sleeping equipment do you guys use when you’re out in the wilderness?

Additionally, this was actually the first bushcraft specific trip I’d taken and it was a wonderful learning curve to say the least. Namely – how to start and maintain a fire in the rain. An important skill to become familiar with, though I am by no means a proficient fire maker (just yet). However camping out for days on end with relentless rain really helps put things in perspective. If you have any tips regarding getting a fire going in the rain then share your thoughts below.
