Flintknapping

Wilderness skills instructor Bob Cooper showcasing how to do some basic flintknapping. Bob is performing some pressure flaking here on a piece of glass, using an old aluminium tent stake as his tool of choice. The softer metal of the tent stake lends itself well to the nature of pressure flaking whilst being affordable and easy to source. By no means traditional, but the point of this exercise was to show us just how practical and cheap it can be to start practicing flintknapping.
